It's been a while since the Talking Sticks interviews I did for Emmett have been available. I've gathered some of my favourites and archived them here: Talking Sticks. They're a little dated, but still have some good perspectives and insight. I avoided the urge to edit them (that might come later). In the meantime, I hope you enjoy.
Friday, April 13 - DC is heading back to Mikey's on 12th. Come early, they turned people away at the door last time. Stay late! We'll be working hard well into the wee hours.
Well, it really happened - I made it back to NAMM. So many highlights. None as great as reconnecting with old Stick friends. Good friends seem to pick things up right where they left off. Lots of new friends made too. The NS team treated me like family. I made some good writing connections and some wheels are starting to turn. Stay tuned.. I've put together some pics - check them out. I cannot believe that it has been 13 years since my last NAMM trip. I don’t understand time. I have no idea how it works but it’s impossible to believe that it has been that long. However, pictures don’t lie and here’s the badge from my last show. Regardless, I’m off! Adventures await – stay tuned.
My first stop is an long overdue visit (it hasn't been 13 years for this one) with Emmett and Yuta. The perfect way to start trip. I've been busy since the last post, going through boxes, scanning old pictures. I've added lots - much more still to come. Check out some solo Stick music on the music page. The journalism page has some new stuff too. Some magazine stories and other writing projects have been scattered across various pages as well. Check it, let me know what you think. This Website thing just keeps getting more and more fun.
Well, so far, so great! Looking for things to post and share has led to some great rediscoveries. Here's the first. A little blast from 1995 (according to the date on the cover). Probably my first Stick recording - although there is an old 'Lurks Like Trains' DAT that may predate this, we'll have to see about that.
Regardless, I hope you enjoy. And thanks to everyone who has reached out to me through this site - apparently the Internet works :) Well, here it is - finally!!
Stay tuned over the next while as I piece this together. In the meantime, look around. There are lots of golden moments from the past and some hints at those to come. Drop me a line via the connect page too - I'd love to hear from you. Take care, Jim |
